Making Cinematic Street Photography

November 10, 2017 - Less than a minute read

I’m finding my style is getting more cinematic with my street photography. So why not embrace it. It’s a lot of fun. I use a shallow depth of field in this case f/4, a long focal length of 135mm, but gotta add the 1.5x crop factor , which makes it 202.5mm, and direction of light to create highlights and shadows. The subject is nice and sharp and the background is slightly out of focus to make the subject pop. Add a post crop of 1.85:1 and this is the result. Lastly, the color toning and making it less contrast or flat helps a lot. Save this topic for another day. Get out and shoot because life is happening!
