Stoplight Portraits: Vintage USSR Lens

December 2, 2017 - Less than a minute read

If you don’t take a moment to look, you will miss what’s going right by you. So, instead of reading my phone at stoplights, like most, I decided to make portraits of people driving by. I used my vintage lens made in the USSR Jupiter-11 circa 1970, set my exposure, guessed my focal distance, and made photos as they came by. People watching is fun for me. None of them noticed me making their portrait. It was a challenge with manual focus and a moving target but still fun. Maybe look up from your phone, if you’re one of the ones reading it at the stoplight. You never know what you will see.
